What we do
Best Family Law Solicitors UK is an independent comparison website. We research, profile, and rank family law solicitors in cities across the United Kingdom so that people facing divorce, separation, child arrangement disputes, and other family law matters can compare their options quickly and confidently.
Family legal issues arrive at the hardest moments in people’s lives. Most people instruct a family solicitor only once or twice in a lifetime, with little basis for telling one firm from another. Our city guides bring together the information that genuinely matters — specialist accreditations, independent directory rankings, fee transparency, dispute resolution options, and client reputation — in one place, presented neutrally.
What we don’t do
- We are not a law firm. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice, and no solicitor-client relationship is created by using it.
- We do not take payment for rankings. No firm can pay to appear in our guides, improve its position, or receive a more favourable profile.
- We do not take referral fees. We receive no commission or financial consideration when you contact a firm we list.
- We do not handle your case. When you contact a listed firm, your relationship is directly with that firm.
How we work
Every firm profile on this website is researched by our editorial team using publicly available information: the firm’s own website, the Law Society of Scotland and Law Society of England & Wales records, independent legal directories such as Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500, and other reputable public sources. Our full assessment criteria are published on our methodology page, and our commitment to independence is set out in our editorial policy.
Our coverage
We currently publish detailed comparison guides for Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, and Paisley, with more UK locations planned. Each guide profiles eight firms, assessed against consistent criteria, with a summary comparison table and location-specific guidance on how family law works in that area.
